Well after exhausting all attempts to find work, I won't be climbing anymore trees this year. Buy thanks to a friend of mine I get to go back to climbing poles full-time doing mainline work for the cable and phone industry. At least there won't be any brush to clean up at the end of the day  .......

I guess looking for work has made me stupid, I had not even thought about that.......thanks slayer

I got a visit today from a former employee. He went to climbing poles for the cable company.

Side job! He needs our truck and heavy equipment.

We left on very good terms, so me working for him is fine with me, just like I would put him back to work too.

Incidental note: he has no spleen, due to a nearly fatal fall from a tree (AFTER working for me). Unless I am mistaken, climbing poles has better safety and job security than climbing trees.

Yes poles are a little safer, you don't use a chainsaw and there is no limb walking, but the real danger of pole work is the 7650V to 15000V that is above your head and of course the occasional pole burn. There is some danger in anything we do, we just do it because we love it or make enough money to out way the dangers, or both.

Quitter! <-----------.....just kidding, lol. Good Luck.

I had a kid on the ROW that went to cable, failed there too. We hit a few bumps in the road, but I kept him alive.

I lost track of him until the other day.

Water guy pulled in early and headed for the house with a bag of salt. So I'm thinking my landlord ordered salt for the softner to be delivered from now on. I get dressed to meet him, but before I can get to the door after the doorbell rang, two guys are now in the back foyer looking for the softner. The one with the bottled water jug on his shoulder was my old problem child.

"Morning boys!?"

Turns out they had the wrong address. Shear Poetry. They let the dog out for me and we had a good laugh.

I hope it goes better for you. Be safe.

Yea I had been in the cable tv business for 5 years before I found th tree business(which I love for some reason), so I guess I will go back and forth when one or the other slows down.......I am gonna climb something, one way or the other:kilt:
