Hello,
I recently was cutting out an invasive Sumac tree, aka "Tree of Heaven" It was close to house foundation, the trunks where 3"inches in diameter, but clearly the renters had cut it down multiple times, and the root ball under ground was 8-10 inches and quite dense. After struggling to dig out in dry dirt, I decided to use a sawszall. I cut through, then the horizontal roots extending then under. It was the last cut that caused a gush of water to spring up, puddle then dissipate.
I was sure I had cut a pipe. I checked the intake pipes, it did not come from water line in, unless that takes a turn in the middle of the yard. Is did not smell of sewage. The water seemed to stop coming out. There is still some dampness in the spot, but not puddled. Its been much hotter than usual, and I do not think the tenet has watered in this area.
Is it possible that the tree held 12-20 ounces of water, and come gushing out?
I am waiting for the plumber to go out and see.
THank you
