I was wondering if we could embed videos. Thought I'd give it a try.

this is what I was trying to post. Its not my video.

This was easy.
Two of my boys last summer.

Two Stihl 090's on a 50" Granberg mill. If I remember correctly 1½" a sec. 5 years ago. He kept having rims go on both and finally abandoned the project. The frame in the background is a starter rail. Blocks cut at about 30° and the notch ststem allows the frame to just sit right on the log. This Ash log I finished up this last summer with my own setup. The bigun' in the back will have to wait till better weather.

I wonder why it was eating rims? Huh. Nice video anyhow.

The only video I have is so large It said five hours to upload. I'll have to take one at a lower quality.

Wasn't his saws or mill. Prolly running bad rims to begin with. Never did find out. Saws went up to Connecticut. You might have to edit the footage. I had the same thing happen first time uploading to youtube but that was 4 years ago. These last two took seconds

OK. I'm snowed in and bored. This is too easy to do so...here's more. Had to turn 176 of these that came out of a Tulip Poplar log I had.

176. wow. I couldn't stay focused that long to make that many. I hope it paid well. Did you ever mill the white whale?

I have a Vega duplicator which makes it easy. When I'm up to it, one spindle takes 4 minutes in this profile. Not yet. I was going to wait for warmer weather like 45°.
