Is there a list anywhere of places that sell Cannon Bars? I haven't had much luck finding them.

Rob

Hello- I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble about Bailey's Woodsman Pro bars, but they're definitely not as high of quality the Cannon bars are. I deal with Timberland Enterprises Inc., a company who repairs and processes around 100-150 chainsaw bars a day, and they're having a lot of problems with those Woodsman Pro bars. Contact Dennis Greffard via this forum, he's a Cannon dealer.

Jacob,

If there having trouble with the Woodsman Pro bars then they will have trouble with the Cannon bars as well because there is absolutly no difference besides the name,I spoke with a rep from Cannon a few months back and they told me that they sell their bars to baileys and all they do is put the name on them..Same bar no difference beside a little wording.

I personally would like to hear what they are finding wrong with them..the only thing I dont like about them anymore is that they use a Oregon Power Match tip,but thats just me.

Rob.

Rob is right. Cannon bars and woodsman pros are the same bar. I had a cannon and it was Ok, but it was heavy and cost way too much. Ill stick with windsors or oregons from now on. I recently tried and windsor on my 260 and It seems to be as good as a stihl , oregon or a cannon . Windsor bars are also dirt cheap.

Hey Guys- the main problems we're seeing with the Woodsman pro bars here is very rapid wear, or one rail wearing much faster than the other ( like one side is tempered more ) and the rails splitting out. Rob is correct about the Oregon single rivet tip, it doesn't last long at all. When the Woodsman Pro bars first came I bought some for my landing saws but they didn't last any longer than an Oregon, Stihl, or Windsor bar. The best luck I've had with landings saws is Windsor bars, hands down. The landing guys are the toughest on saws as far as "professional" users go, and the Windsor bars are holding up.

I will second, third, and fourth that. Woodsman pro bars are Cannon bars. I have four of them and if you look back at the heel of the bar where all the labeling is at you will see Cannon stamped on the bars...............Wade

Thats the one thing I don't like about the Cannon bars was they switched to the single rivet Oregon tip,I still have a few Cannon bars I use on my bigger saws but once there worn out,I'll replace them with some Windsor bars that is what I have been running on my PP385 I like them alot more than the Power Match bars, plus they have a 5 rivet tip..

Later Rob.

I can't say that the Woodsman Pro's are the same...but I can tell you that I have quit selling Cannon bars...too much wear...too quick...sent some in for warranty...and they returned them re-machined....but they still did not cut worth a [email protected] old Cannon bars were 10 times the bar they are now in my opinion...

-and why wouldn't they be?

bars....

Have any of you tried the new GB Hi-Tech protop bars? They are made from a special titanium alloy steel and we have had really good luck with them locally... They are painted orange and look real good on Stihl saws.

bars and more bars

Dennis- I had to grit my teeth when I wrote that "Stihl... looks good"... LOL

Ben,
The early SNT bars were only in .063- you are correct. We had some of the 1st ones and they only made a test or prototype batch all in .063. We had some issues on 32" bars (another brand) with the tails breaking. These bars solved that problem. That was about a year ago and these GB Hi-Tech bars are now available in .050 in select sizes.

other info-
Have any of seen these new bars from Oregon

Superbar and Woodsman pro bars with(Oregon tips)
I have heard about Cannon lowering standers, its bull????.GB(Pro Top)and Cannon are the best bar in production. GB(PT) are lighter than Cannon's SB. Both are PRO bars. But Cannon's Superbar has the hardest heel and the rails are the ????ing hardest, I have yet to use. Dennis enlighten us on the excessive(quick) wear. Seth
Mike Acers is also a Cannon Dealer
