Hey all,

A question for the experts here: I just modded my muffler on my 372xp per Ken Dunns reccomendations and the thing appears to want all of the gas I can give it. I just did some quick adjustments in the shed (saw is painfully loud now when wrapped up in the shed) it seemed like it wanted it all. I'll play around with it tomorrow night outside to verify but wanted to know if this was typical and do you generally have to disable the limiter caps when doing just a muffler mod? I am adjusting per the manual which is full clockwise and bring back until it screams and then back off until it four-cycles.

Thanks,

Don

You should put the limiter caps back when you are done. I left some off and the needles didn't want to stay put since there is no spring and flange to retard them from backing out. The guy brought it back, said he hadn't touched it, and both needle were out at about 8 turns.

Thanks guys.

I played with it a bit this morning outside and I could get it to fourstroke pretty good so I should have some adjustment left. I have to check the book again but I swore it said to run the screw clear clockwise to start which seem backwards to lean it clear out and then richen it up to set it. I've always done it the other way. The needles do have right hand threads?

It sure seemed that way as the saw would go from fourstroking to screaming like a banshee as I went from clear counterclockwise and turned it clockwise. I probably just read it wrong, it was getting late.

Hopefully I'll be able to give it a good workout tommorow.
