Forgive me if this is as bad as a 2-stroke oil post, but what about carbs?

My limited experience shows Tillotson carburetors are more likely mounted on larger saws (>60 cc) while Zama and Walbro are more prevalent on smaller saws.

Are their any broad generalities?

My experience with Tillotson is great, Walbro decent to great, and Zama not-so-hot on the one I have seen.

I will throw my hat in

MS440 Mag and Jonsered 2171 (basically a Husq 372) both sporting Walbro Carbs both are 70cc saws

MS250 - Zama

With that said both my saws are 1. older 2. second hand - so who knows which carbs they originally came with by I believe they are OEM.

To add to that, the original 044 came with a Zama

OK, seems random for the sized saw then?
Seems they are all about the same then, as far as quality?

288 xp Tillotson 87 cc

488 Shindi 48 cc Walbro
PS420 Dolmar 42 cc Walbro (I think, and aftermarket Zama fit)

That's why I asked
