Anybody have any experience with carbide tipped blades on their sawmills? I have used a few and they have pros and cons over steel blades. Clearly Biggest drawback is few hundred bucks isn't easy handing over these days.

I have used them but not overly impressed, especially with the cost of them. My regular carbon steel bands have cut through all the metal I have thrown at them thus far.

I'm going to venture that the ROI is a moot issue for small sawyers. If you hit metal with a 4 TPI carbide blade, you're going to lose teeth just as easily as hitting it with a bi-metal blade. Perhaps easier.
