Is there a way to tell which motor is on the machine between the 33-44hp? Looking at purchasing a used machine and the owner doesn’t know which is on the machine

I believe the 33 hp was a lombardini. Bad engine. The 44 was a kubota

Carlton supplied both the Kubota 33 and 44hp engines. I would get the serial number of the machine or the engine. You can call Carlton with the machine serial number and they can tell you or you can call Kubota with the engine serial number and they can tell you.

33HP is a 3 cylinder,44HP is a 4cylinder easy enough ! I own a 33HP version .
