Just wondering if any of you guys have any experience with these track skidders? They seem to spec out pretty heavy, which is a concern for me since it would be needed to operate in soft ground.
Would a LGP single arch/winch model compliment a grapple skidder-manual falling outfit cutting large hardwood?

I can't really answer your question but I did not like operating an LGP D5 size Komatsu trying to weave through trees. I would not choose an LGP if I was not forced to. I have never seen an LGP dozer with an arch or with an extended frame.

Up in these parts we use a d5tsk or 527 with swinging grapples. They round up piles of wood kinda like buncher piles. then send in the 648 fixed grapple to pull the wad to the landing. Cats dont normally pay off due to high cost of undercarrage repair. The will do better in soft areas and are nice for making waterbars with the 6 way blade. I only ran a d4tsk once, it was a cable machine, just too slow compaired to a rubber tired skidder.
