central boiler and fire brick

i am able to get some 2'' thick fire brick. do you feel that i would benefit by installing it on the floor of the burner?
 
It might help hold some heat. I think that lining the sides might work better. Just a guess. Could not hurt to try.
 
I believe there is a write-up on hearth.com of how a guy lined his entire stove with firebrick and some other stuff for the ceiling and got twice the efficiency out of it.
 
As long as the firebrick is still able to transfer all of the heat through to the water jacket, it would probably be fine.

in effect Central Boiler has done with there E-Classic 2300 EPA approved model.
