Recently bought a Jolly chainsaw grinder, but the instructions that came with it are not very helpful in setting up the proper angles and chain identification. Does anyone know of a good website or book, or other source to learn the proper technique for sharpening. thanks

Without instructions, I would clamp a new chain and change adjustments to duplicate the angles found. Shape the stone approximately to match the contour of the same size file you would use on that chain. That will cut wood.

I had a similar problem, bought a harbor freight grinder with few/poor instructions. If you go to the oregon website and look at their 511 grinder you will see a link to the operators manual in pdf format. The grinder principals are all the same, lots of good info there.

By the way, the harbor freight grinder is $62 in their store and a pretty exact copy of the oregon mini-grinder.

I emailed Oregon, and they sent me an owners manual and another booklet "Maintenance and Safety Manual" free of charge, took two days. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!
