I've learned that class 1 (EU Standard) resist chainsaw speed up to 20m/sec = 3,657 ft/min. Class 2 up to 24 m/sec = 4,724 ft/min.
Therefore, class 2 is better. I got a pair of LONGSTONE, class 2 ( Chain Saw Safety Longstone Boots ).
They are very comfortable and solid.

Since you'are not climbing you might not even want a boot. Steel toes are available in most configuration of shoes. When I was climbing, as soon as I hit the ground, I'd switch to a Merrill hiking shoe (not steel toe). I like something lighter and more comfortable, less likely to cause me to trip or stumble. I just checked out ebay and they have lots to choose from. The first one I saw was a Redwing, 5" hiking/work shoe, steel toe, waterproof. Looked like a nice shoe, Joe.
