Are the 385 and 372 basically the same dimensions. What I am asking is will a 385 fit in a case that a 372 will go into.

Universal

I think most of them are universal buddy. If you look at the husky case it says up to 575XP. I don't think the 385 is much bigger in size. But I'd double check. Go to your dealer and try one out dude...

I have a 281 that I am changing to a 288. It will not fit the Husq. power box or any of their cases. The saw is too tall for the top to close and a tad too long.

Have you seen those new Husky's. Those damn things are tall as all get out with those new air filter covers.

not sure about which case you have. I have an older one piece case for a 272 that my 372 fits in. A 385 will not, the handle bar is too tall. I would venture to say that a 385 will not fit in the powerbox case either.

Let me know when you find one, I have a new 7900 that I would like to keep in a case to keep it looking new for quite some time.

Wanted to thank everyone for the feed back. At present I do not have a case, just the 385. I saw one on Ebay a case .that a 372 would fit in and was curious as to see if my 385 would fit.

Made a saw case for my 385 out of a case I got with an ms170. The 385 fit lengthwise fine but was to high to fit. So I took a Roto Zip and cut part of the top out. Then cut a piece of plexiglass to cover part of the whole. Put some foam on the patch to keep the saw from moving. To pick it up just reach in and grab saw handle. May not look great but it protects the saw.
