Hi guys.I recieved a stripped down saw.Its a sthil.Crankcase ,crank, piston, cylinder.I have the cylinder off and miked the bore with the verniers,it measures 51.38.On the cylinder base it reads mahle 49zn1iii_ on one side w3 with a von the other side.On the top near the plug hole it is stamped 08 with a B 95.Can anyone tell me what model saw this was when it was new.I checked out acres collector site in sthil and husky but the bore size doesnt match any. There is a number on the upper clutch side stamped in the casting. No its not a casting number. All the saws have number in the same place.Would this number be of any help. The number is 114541915.Maybe this is a serial number for the different saws.Do not know. Can anyone help me out. Thanks in advance guys.Don.

Lawn master.I got no camera.Any other measurements I can take to help you .This cylinder looks like it has a longer stroke then some with same bore size.I also notice the exhaust port is shaped at a sharp45 degree angle. Is this any help to you.Don.

Hi frllows. All I have is crank case crank shaft con rod piston and cylinder. This cylinder has no bracket on it to attach the coil on it.Looks just like your 034 ,038 044.Shes got big tranfer ports.I measured out side from bottom of base to flat across the head ,almost 4" hight. Also inside measurment,I took this on the exhaust side of cylinder from the head to the base were it bolt to the crankcase.Exactally 3". Maybe this will help. Also measured exhaust port cross the port 1.65 or 27mm.Hight of port .642 or16mm..The intake takes a rubber boot and clamps on the same as the 034 038 044 ectra.Hope this simplfies .Don.

Well, if you think it's an 038, 044 or 034 and not one of the older saws, then it has to be either an 038 Magnum (52mm bore) or an 046 (52mm bore).

These descriptions are hard to work with. Like putting a puzzle together over the phone. I doubt you'll find anyone here who has ever measured the physical dimensions of their saw the way you have.

All those numbers on the cylinder you gave are Mahle part #'s, not Stihl. More or less meaningless to us chainsaw guys. The 9 digit number you gave is the serial number, not helpful.

Also, other than the very littlest saws or old, old designs, I can't think of any Stihl's that don't use a rubber intake boot with clamp.

Best bet-- short of a picture --is to find a part number on the case. Also, the conrod may have a number on it.

BTW, last time I checked 1.65" is not 27mm. :dizzy:

If you want to know what it is look at any part number you can find that begins with a 11. All Stihl sdaws have a 1100 series number. Parts that are specifis to the family begin with a 11. You sate you have the crankcase. Somewhere on it you will find the part number. That will narrow the search dramatically.

Chris b.On the under back side of fly wheel side of crankcase this number appears.9 1119 021 0701.Is this any help. Thanks Don.Or is this the half crankcase number.

You got it, the 038. The 1119 is the key as the case is unique to 038s. That's the nice thing about Stihl's. The part #s can actually tell you something about the part you have.
