Has anyone experimented with running non-recommended bars on chainsaws? For example: an 066 with a 50" cannon bar, an 044 or 046 with a 36" or 42" bar. Rich.
I haven't done it, but I'm always hearing how you need a good 70cc+ saw to do any serious milling. Running a big bar like that on a 48cc 031 isn't something I can picture. I have a 20" on my 032 and that's as big as I'd want to go.
Hi there aye, you will have to ask celebrity Notax Robert about running longer bars on tiny saws. I saw him using a 72" Cannon bar on his 046 and is heavily in demand by landscapers as the Human Bush Hog. They also call him Chain Throw Charlie, because he uses a 12 pin sprocket with the 273 drivers he's trying to pull on the 72"er..
