Hello, I tried finding Chainsaw Forum, but it came back w/ error. So I want to post here instead if that is ok.
Well, I really really need to get one of my 2 chainsaws working. One is a Poulan, kind of cheap, but my other one that I bought at a yard sale is a nice Jonsereds 52E. I have read some posts on this site about warming it up and blowing out the carb with WD40 before I take apart the carb itself. So I have tried this but no luck yet. I would like to know when I poke the red straw from WD40 into a certain hole in the carb whether or not I should see flow come out. I am not versed in all the jet technology and metering that goes into a carb, but I am trying to cut some wood this weekend if at all possible. Could someone tell me something like, if you blow in Port X you should see something come out of Port Y, or else your carb is hosed? And, what about in my photo #4, is this gasket in need of repair? Is the diaphragm in photo #10 subject to damage if sawdust & stuff is in there? Or should I go ahead and spend like 32 bucks for a rebuilt carb, thinking that all the seals and gaskets are probably in good working order, or would I need to buy a seal kit in addition, and lastly where the heck in the fuel filter - do I need to take apart more stuff to get that? thanks.
