Me and my buddy Brett (Spencer Paving) had a few leads on some old saws and other logging type things. We hit the road at 6:30 am and made a 2.5 hour drive north hoping the guy would be home (lost his number). well with a few stops along the way we found our mark and pulled in the driveway. We were in luck the gentleman was home and gave us the dime tour. This guy has been a Adirondack logger his whole life. The scene reminded me of pickers. we were climbing and tripping through old barns and digging through "treasures". In the first barn He showed us his fully restored Linn logging truck. this thing was amazingly cool and in perfect condition. The log truck has been in his family since the 40s and used in the woods for 50+ years. I wished i had snapped a few pictures of the truck. He also had an unrestored 1949 F-6 Ford firetruck that had a flathead 8cyl and 8450 miles and it was gorgeous (i am a fireman so it really cought my eye). when we got to the saws he had about 16 old saws from homelite 26lcs, lombards, Remingtons and some other misc saws. We went to another barn where he thought he had an "old 2man Mall". After digging our way in we Found a Mall Model 7 36'' bar under a stack of lumber, truck fenders, a model T dash and some other random things. We saw lots and lots of other great things along the way (way to much to list). what a great day with great people.
Here are the items i brought home
Mall model 7, Disston D0-100 (i think), Wright recip saw, 4 crosscut saws.
I am pretty happy to add another 2 man to my collection.
