I got a older saw.. i started it and it runs.. but it eats gas like crazy. i filled up 1/8 gallon tank and it was gone in like 4 mins of runing. I need help on how to regulate the carb.

how good

How good does it run does it rev very low like no change in rpm between idle and full throttle if it does this then it will guzzle gas. Or does it rev out and run clean if it does this then it will chew through fuel thats how much its supposed to use. Or does the fuel tank leak? Or does the fuel line leak.
Or are your carb screws loose. Or is the carb bolts loose to the intake.

What make and model? we need to know if we're gonna help you out any.
Oh btw, welcome aboard.

I cant imagine a saw chugging that much gas in that little amount of time. look for holes, cracked fuel lines, whatever, ITS NOT NORMAL.

I dont know with my modded 066 it take me alittle less then 15 minutes at full throttle to run out a full tank of fuel. I would try a fresh fuel filter a carb cleaning and an inspection of the tank and hose lines.

When it idles it low.. there is a difference in revs.. The tank dosent leak and the fual line i dont know, i will check, it might leak. It is a paulon, old. I dont know how to set the carb srews. so it dosent take too much fuel. I think thats my problem..Thanks guys...

It might just be a BIG saw that uses a lot of gas cause its older and isnt built for fuel economy and power combined. I'm guessing its an OLD poulan. couldnt be an S25 as they're too small to be using 1/8 gallon of gas.

I took apart the motor and found out the the gaskets were bad. I made new ones with gasket maker. Hopefully it will work.. the model is poulan mirco 25 old. Fuel tank is actualy like smaller then what i thought.. Any body know know to set the carb srews on this model???
