I would like to get a decent all around service manual for working on my saws. With the help I have gotten here, I have solved several of my basic problems and would like to continue to add to my knowledge. Please post with your favorite recommendations.

Thanks,

Rob

This was mentioned a short while back and someone recommended the Intertec manual from Amazon. For $19 plus S/H you get a lot of manual with specs and good diagrams for just about saw you'll run into. Doesn't give specific details, such as how to remove the flywheel from an 045 Stihl but I figured that out. Came in handy when I couldn't remember what order all the clutch/sprocket parts went back together.

Do a search on your favorite book site for ISBN 0872887057.

I just got the Intertec Chain Saw manual from Amazon. Yes, it covers many brands and models of saws (some that I never heard of), it is not comprehensive for any single model. Usually several models are lumped together with some text and some exploded diagrams -- but maybe not of everything you specifically need. You might be able to get by with it alone, but I still prefer having the factory manual too.

Is is cool being able to examine how various saws you might be curious about are built.

When I ordered my copy you got free shipping if you ordered $25 worth of books and it came really fast via UPS. That was only a couple weeks ago.
