Are there such things? I love the gun shows we periodically have, you can even bring guns and trade them and such.

I wish we had something like this for chainsaws.

I've seen lots of dealers set up in a row at logging expo's, but as for a chainsaw show/ meet, where you could buy, sell, trade, used or new saws, parts, bars, chains, even try out saws, now that would be really cool......somebody oughta organize one, myself I'd travel quite a ways to go to one.

Maybe the only drawback might be a 2cycle hasmat indoors? You wouldn't have to start them inside tho. I mean how many guns are tested at these things? (The answer is 1 time in Monroeville that I'm aware of and that went down to stupidity)

I have a saw I think is really neat, but I'd rather pound my nads flat with a wooden mallet before listing it on E-bay. Looking at a picture isn't ever the same as holding either.

Heck, a trade show could be a great place to pick up protective gear, Cants, and such. Hard to believe we couldn't get Husky and Stihl to sponsor the darned thing not to mention all the thoughtful folk here.

I'd be there if it were within any reasonalble driving distance!
I've seen enough gun shows to last a lifetime but saws would be a new and interesting attraction for me.

I've seen (but not attended) a local snowmobile swap meet here in Iowa. I know a guy that is into snomobiles that has attended same and he had a favorable impression of it.

:)

If people were willing to come to FL, I'm sure I could find a way we could arrange such a thing, but it would need to be planned in advance so I'd know who was coming, and how many people to plan for, plus space requirments, and time frame.

Would be awesome though, and if someone were to actually get one to happen, I'd be there for sure. what chainsaw obsessed nutcase wouldnt be?

I belive Glens posted quite some tom ago about a logging show in Louisville, KY. I am not sure if that is is set location or if that travels.

That is the power equipment expo referrenced in the Dolmar 510 pictures thread where the new 5100 is going to be rolled out.

I`m having a chainsaw show at my home on November 5th, we`ve been talking about it in Ed`s section of this forum for atleast a week. I don`t know how many saw parts might be available for sale but there is sure to be a few saws for sale.

Combine the chainsaw and gun show with some female mud wrestling!

ok, that would be a cool combo right there. add a good test area to play with the saws, plus a shooting range, and the female mud wrestling arena, we'd all be happy enough that we'd be there all week long.

Russ,

Actually the post I was thinking about was made by Glens and was in regards to the Husky 575 but the one you posted is more relevant as that is for this years show.

Thanks for the heads up.

The EXPO is next weekend in Louisville, and is making a comeback. Husky had a nice outdoor demo area last year, as well as Echo. Solo dropped out, and Stihl has started
to come back in a little, but only because they sponsor a seminar there, not because they want to.
There are regional shows that focus more on logging that might be more in line with the swap meet/flea market idea, which would be neat.

The Paul Bunyan expo is underway this weekend in Nelsonville Ohio.I may go tomorrow if the weather isn't nasty.
