I thought long and hard about getting one a while back. To my knowledge Bandit is the only producer and only makes two models. Would be pretty convenient for the on the smaller side tree biz.

Nice find

I called him just to see if he'd be interested in a trade for my bandit 200+. I wouldn't mind having a small unit like that for small pruning jobs.

Sounds like it only has a 27hp or so gasser on it though. Doesn't sound like much power - even for a 6" machine, does it?

It would be very useful for me. I think it would be hard going down to a 6" chipper from a 12". But it would save a trip on most jobs.

This is next on my list of toys to buy.

Scott and STL (and anyone else who wants to chime in)...

I'm starting to wonder if my bandit 200+ is going to sell before winter hits. I get a lot of inquiries but no takers. Do you guys think $8400 is a reasonable asking price taking into account the current equipment market? If not, what would it be worth if it was selling in your area and shipping wasn't a concern?

PM me with your answers if you don't mind, please.

scott,

your pm inbox is full. won't accept any new messages until you delete a few...

Fixed it.

Btw, does anyone know what those Bandit combo units go for new?

The guy selling his on craigslist said he checked and they list for around $26k. I would guess it depends somewhat on engine options if different ones are available.

The reality, however, is the second it leaves the bandit lot, it's value drops $10k. I'm sure the one on craigs list could be picked up for $8k, maybe even less, if someone really pursued it. He sounded eager to sell or make a trade as he wants to go 'pan for gold in the klondike'!

BTW, he said it was a '95 with about 1400 hrs on it and has a 27hp kohler gas. Looks like a paint job is in order...that is one ugly orange!

I don't mind the orange but all the rust. Geez. I'm so glad it doesn't snow here.

I have one of the chip box combo's. Mine has a 40 hp Deutz diesel though, and a 9" capacity. When I bought it used from a dealer he told me the same unit new was around 35K. That one pictured looks like a lot smaller chipper unit than mine. The feed chute is also missing on that one.

They are a handy little machine. Especially for the smaller guy, or someone wanting to add another crew without the extra expense of more trucks and chippers.

i always wanted one of those since they came out late 80's. I thought they would be good for a small company which is what I want mine to be someday.
