What do you guys use for dressing the blades between changes. I have a Vermeer 1230 with four single edge blades. I pay $40.00 to have them sharpened once every 2-3 months. In between I have been using a little blade sharpener like the one from bailey's. They are only $10.00 or less, but I was wondering if you had something more heavy duty? I can go through one pretty quick, even when I rotate the edge of the little carbides. They just don't seem to last a long time. I have had three or more in as many years...

I have a $40 8" stationary grinder I use to sharpen mine. It generally takes me about 10 minutes per blade. Of course, my blades are only 12" long.

Sometimes I clamp a piece of wood on the blade to use as a guide fence up against the edge of the angle guide, other times I just do it freehand.

:agree2:

I have a Morbark 200, I have multiple sets of blade's, I dress them with my bench grinder as-well, works fine. However, I do take them in periodically. Ive also been thinking about using a dremel to sharpen up the edges on my feed wheel's
