chipper motor

trying to help a friend id this motor on a old chuck n duck 12 inch chipper , no data plate but have 49-14-44-1 which I think was on the block , he also found this 40-000-3623 , thanks for any help

Please understand that a lot of those numbers are casting numbers and mean nothing. Gas or diesel? If it's a gas engine, I'm leaning towards a Ford motor.

thanks , it is a gas 4 cylinder so I was thinking it is a ford industrial motor too , someone said it could be a white but never heard of them

Ford industrial 300 6 cyl is just a guess i cant tell.

I've never heard of White either. I just noticed something as well. The paint of the engine and the motor mounts is the same color as a Kubota. Kubota does make gas engines.

I know it might be a pain in the butt. Is there a tag on the valve cover? Maybe take a smart phone and start snapping photos to see.

no tags anywhere , its been power washed and nothing
