I've been looking for a chipper for 2 weeks ................... there are lots on the market , some at good prices , some very old , rusty , out dated with high prices!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL what are these people thinking?

Keep looking. The right one is out there. I've been looking for a Bobcat for a while now and have figured if you don't NEED one right away, one will come along at the right price. And going into the winter, some folks will be dumping gear for cash. I've been looking on ebay and craigslist and find that craigslist has cheaper prices for comparable machines. Good luck

Every time I find one , I find another with less hours and cheaper! I'm looking at BC 1230's , but I want a BC 1800!

I found a 2001 BC 1230 with 505 hours for 9K

And a BC 1800 with 4000 hours for 9k , is that to many hours?

2 weeks ago I was helping a friend out with some branches and a neighbor came over to us. We had done work for the guy last year. He had a log splitter to sell if we were interested. He paid $1,500 for it last fall or this spring, used it once, and then covered it up. He sold it to me for $500 just to get rid of it. The thing just needed to have the oil changed, and have the dust wiped off. He also had a small bobcat... not a bad little machine. He sold it to some guys up the road for $2,000. They in turn are trying to get $2,500 for it.
