Brought home 3 loads on the 29th, got over a foot of snow that night. I think we're just going to haul home the rest of the logs and wait with dropping more trees. It's hard to cut them up when they drop and disappear into the snow. :dizzy: It was kinda fun with the fire going in the middle of a snowstorm.

It might be a good idea to start cutting the logs a little shorter-I think!

I bet that skidsteer with the grapple is an irreplaceable tool for production!

I'd love to have me one setup like that.

Nice load of logs! Looks like alot of fun to me, especially with the toys you have sitting there!

If I get laid off or when we get some nice weather I will be there if you give me a little notice. Will have to stop at Boyds and get a new chain. Maybe even a new bar/chain combo. I think that saw would be even better with a 20" on it.

Sweet pics JD, that is the fun/easy way to do it. What is the capacity of the 260 the way you have it set up?

Where's John?

I had a guy bring his skidsteer with grapple into a woodlot in which I'd staged some logs for a second trip, they were 300' from the truck through 8" of snow, and he had the truck loaded in about 1-1/2 hrs. That same load would have taken me 6 with my loader bucket and more trips.

Ya, a 20"bar on the 7900 will really fly thru some wood. I'm down at Boyd's almost every Friday.

Ya it is kinda almost like cheating with the skidsteer out in the woods. With the last snow we got here I think we're done except hauling the remaining 7-8 loads of logs that we have piled in the woods.

The skidsteer is rated at 2200 lbs, but with the tracks as extra ballast it will easily handle over 3000. We usually have Jon helping drop trees or driving the truck home to dump logs. I took the week off work and Jon still had to drive at his regular job.

Nice pics and it sure looks cold.....but what's all that white stuff all over the place???? You could send some of that my way ya know. :)

Why?? with that much wood you could drive thru anything and still have traction to spare:dizzy:
P.S. with that type of snow it is nice to have a fire along with a nice Jack&coke:)
