gimme some help here, I'm lost here. ( but not in the garage, my customized filing/storage sytem has eveything the right place.)

You need someone like me to come out and build you a top-quality addition to the garage?  Or would I need to become a sponsor to suggest such here? (LOL)

I don't see any big deal treeslayer. If you're like me and probably most the other guys here, except for maybe an odd screw or nut you know where every single thing is and the only time you have trouble is when someone else has been rumaging about in your filing system.

I've learned that one secret to a happy relationship is to squint when you go into 'his' garage (or in our case, what we call the 'beer shed'....used to have a workable bench, now just storage and a good place for the extra 'fridge.)

AND.....if she can't find anything 'cuz she doesn't know your 'filing system' she can just buy her own set of tools and be done with it. Works for me.

Mine used to look like that and worse sometimes. You have plenty of space left, just need some shelving. I made cheap shelves out of 2x4 and 1/2 plywood or OSB. I made em 16" deep (3 in a sheet of plywood) and 12" high. Keeps from stacking stuff on top of each other and behind, and the perfect size to hold most saws. One it is up off thr floor or workbench, you look like a real organized wrench head! Doesn't mean you mean you have any less, just looks like it when they come in!

Cleaning out the garage become one of those issues where ear protection is most valuable tool I own. I stuff a couple of those small plugs in both ears and she can talk and talk and talk and........
