Any recommendadtions on the best style clearing saw blde? I have the biggest saw Husky made in the 80's, a 165R, and want to clear up to 3" wood. Thanks.

I have tha same saw.....they are a monster.
I get mine thru Husky, the "Maxi" if I recall. They can be sharpened with a chainsaw file.
The 165r takes a 9" blade.
I think Bailey's (site sponsor) carries a similar one. You will probably have to call them, I didn't see it online.
I found a link.....http://www.windsorforestry.com/products/blades/clearing_blades.shtm#maxi

Maxi 225-20

Maxi blade is definitely the way to go. You also need to watch the set of the blade. The set goes out of the blade naturally as you sharpen the teeth back, or from hitting things, or from storing a stack of blades on top of each other. You can get the teeth razor sharp, but it still won't cut if the sete is not correct.

There is a setting tool that will help you set it and check the width of the set.

I myself use the file guide that has 2 notches on top of it for setting the blade...

i usually set in once for every 2-3 tanks, depending on how the blade looks...
