This is a climbing and rigging position in our Public Works Department, though a large majority of the time our work is completed with a bucket truck. Below is a quick list of duties and responsibilities. Pay Band is $10.41-$23.91/hr., with a general starting rate not exceeding $16.24 per hour.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent recognized certificate and two years of experience that includes climbing trees to care, trim, top, prune or remove them; two years of experience in horticultural or arboricultural operations that includes tree maintenance; or an equivalent combination of training or experience.
NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in tree removal and trimming operations and experience climbing trees using various climbing techniques.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Class "A" State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or must have passed the written Class "A" CDL test and obtained a Class "A" CDL permit at the time of appointment and obtain the Class "A" CDL licensure within 60 calendar days from date of employment as a condition for continued employment.
NOTE: Applicants must obtain the Florida Department of Transportation Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification within 6 months of initial employment and maintain this certification as a condition of continued employment in the position.
NOTE: Applicant must also obtain ISA Certified Tree Worker Certification or ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months of initial employment.
