I am thinking that most vendors keep their prices competitive with their rivals. You could always get cheaper equipment but will be hard pressed to pay less for quality. I tried piecing things together looking for the best price per item, eh and just tossed it out the window and ordered the majority from a single vendor.

Wesspur was running free shipping on anything over $150 not sure if its still going.

i was just looking at their web site.

i'm tempted to buy these:

Buckingham Steel Spurs with Super Climber Pads

http://wesspur.com/Spurs/buckingham_spurs.html

opinions?

I have an old pair of those with L pads on them. Don't climb in them much anymore. I do still use them when I have a removal with shaggy bark as I have tree gaffs on them. I use aluminum Bashlin's with pole gaffs mostly now. They are so light I can climb in them all day without hardly knowing I'm wearing them. The steel Buckingham's will be just fine if you are not using them every day for extended periods. Otherwise, there are much better options. To tell the truth, I prefer Klien's with the offset gaffs when it comes to steel spikes but that's just me.

Sherrill will price match and do better, any company out there and will match wespurs free shipping over 150$

150% Price Guarantee (Price Crusher)

Found another retailer announcing $10 off SherrillTree’s already low price? Call us, we'll make it $15 off, that's how our 150% price crushing guarantee works.

As any market leader will attest, it's common for low-ranking competition to selectively snipe item prices and declare themselves king of the price game. Our method of defense against this tactic is simple - increase their sacrifice and your savings to 150%!

SherrillTree's 150% Price Guarantee will crush any competitor's price, PERIOD. If you find a lower currently advertised price, in print or on the web from another arborist supply company, we'll CRUSH IT.

We make it easy. Just provide the details, we confirm it, and you will receive your new crushed price. Usually we can do this while you are on the phone. It's that easy.

This effort is applicable for products of equal make, model, and by the same manufacturer. Prices must be current and in print (for confirmation purposes). Offer good through SherrillTree online and mail-order only, retail locations may or may not participate.

I'm pretty sure it's free shipping over $100 at Wesspur right now. I find their prices to be consistently the lowest without having to ask them to match prices. Plus customer service is the best. It seems I end up using them more than anyone else now for rope and climbing gear.

Although I will add that I have not had a bad experience with any of the major arborist retailers, they all seem to take care of the customer.

Course this is just one guy's opinion...

try Aeriel equipment a sideline of care of trees they are in Wheeling IL. prices go up & down in all of them look around & you can save a lot but you may have to order from different suppliers

the difference isn't enought to worry about.

you may save a couple bucks but get crappy service or a screwed up order.

i got a set of gecko's this year. i love em
i used 2 use bashlins
buckinhams are the most painfull gaffs i have ever worn

thank you for all the help i picked up a set of buckinham pole spikes cheap and for now will have to do till i get enough to buy another set.

i am thinking of switching gaffs.

i am Buck titaniums now.the Bashlins look nice as do the Climbrites.Geckos are nice but i tried tree MDS's and the seemed small.i have big legs.they seemed short too.the design is brilliant but if they don't fit,i don't think they are worth trying.
