You need a custom made bucket. Not safe. Bucket should go up past hips.

Well you're too tall for this type of work so you may as well quit right now. Maybe you could head up north for the green bean harvest.:)

Hey john i think i will bring my 100 ft ladder on ur next job u wont have a foot on the ground ask woodchk he seen it. if u need it its a 100ft aerial ladder with foot holds and calf rests.or we can repel down and cut i will try to get some pics up so u can see it they dont call me the fireman for nothing.all these guys spending 2 hundred grand to get up 80 ft i spent $7000 ladder goes 100ft ladder is :greenchainsaw: certified and u can climb up and down.:chainsaw:

That's not mine. I have 2 clients with buckets and one of those has the 100ft Spiderlift too.

My bucket work is occasional, only a few times a month.

looks good from my house

get up in it, get out on it ,dont be skeeert, and keep that safety gear on.
ill even stand on the rim or climb out if i cant quiet reach. safety first keep a strap on it

I climb out regularly, but working off the rim of the bucket does not sound like safe SOP. Now your safety is now by your feet and your "class of fall" is elevated.

My way of thinking is that thing can happen unexpectedly. If I am working on a limb, I want the 3 points of contact, just in case. If on the lip of the bucket all there is are my feet.

(I also have the added disadvantage of being top heavy from wide shoulders and a big head.)

Once again the job is high risk, why elevate that risk even higher. Now if you keep a climbline handy and are setting it with a polesaw before stepping up on the lip, then I take all that rant back.

thanx jps

your 100% right. this is added extra and unnecessarily dangerous. very poor practice and bad example for others. i say all to often do as i say and not what i do. shame on me. WLL has lots to learn and i thank A/S and all members for all the help. A/S is my most useful tool box. thank u all

shame on me.

Yes sir! This is what you go to work for, not getting a given job done a few minuets sooner.
