Jonsered® CS2139T 2-cycle, 14 in. Professional Top Handle Chainsaw, 39cc, 2.3 HP, CARB Compliant

The specs look good. Im looking for a saw that runs close to the 200t.

Yup i had one for about a year and didn't like it. Its not a bad saw at all i just didn't like how it felt and it was nose heavy but its got some torque when you open the exhaust up its still not a 200T. For the money you're gonna pay for that saw i would highly suggest you check out the Echo 355T its the closest to a 200T as you're gonna get under $500.($449 with a 14" bar)

Now if money is not an issue go with the 201T and have it modded for $50 by Blsnelling (a member here) i have one and its gonna cost you $650.

The best bang for your buck right now is the Echo 355T lots lf info on it here.

I have a 355T that i just muffler modded and it made what was already a strong saw even stronger i use it more than my 201.

It looks just like a Husky 338 . I really don't like the feel of any top handle saw but it is a torquey saw. I would really like to try a 339 Husky. Same saw but with rear grip. I only use an arb saw until I get to 8-10" thenuse a 50 cc saw till 24" or less.
For me reliability is much moreimportant than high proformance in an arb saw. . But, I've never run a 200 or 201T .
Currently I'm using a Tanaka and I like it a lot. It has good torque. Pumps lots of oil ( super important in a baby saw) starts very well. Has a well positioned kill switch and a pre gutted muffler. Ie, it's Loud :msp_biggrin:
I have no idea about its longetivity but it works for me.

That Echo looks real good. I tried Mesupra's # he must be out.
I've used the 338 for a few months but some groundy repeatedly did Not clean around the oil filler cap and the oiler went t.u. . Boss is waiting on parts to get in. Its a good saw. I much prefer it to the 192 Stihl

I don't mind climbing with a 338, they aren't a bad saw, but my experience of them has been they are maintenance pigs. I've got three of my buddy's sitting on the bench right now. Put it this way: I can tear a 338 down to the crank in about 15 minutes, I still don't know what a 200 looks like under the plastic. This would be a good time for Jeff to jump on and give us an update on the 355. I know his guys have been running them for quite a while now. How are they holding up? Jolly

I've always run stihl's, but nmurph put me onto the 346xp's and we've got a few of them now. I gave away a couple 026's to some of the boys because the 346's have pretty much become my favorite saw in that class but you're right on the maintenance stuff. The stihls don't get maintenance, they get repaired when we break them through stuff like dropping them out of the tree or running them over with the truck or whatever. The husky's just seem to wear out that much quicker. it's all little stuff, like the chock lever wears out, mufflers crack, exhaust melts plastics etc etc... but it seems to happen pretty regular.

Here's a tip by the way; when the little clip thing on the end of the choke lever wears out so that it keeps popping out and the choke no longer functions, you can repair rather than replace. Remove the choke lever, put it lightly in a vice, stick a screwdriver into the slit, and use your girlfriends hair dryer to soften the plastic so you can open the ears up again. Make sure and put the hair dryer back before she gets home and don't leave greasy fingerprints on it. The choke levers get another 6 months use this way.

I read a post earlier that the 540's U.S. release was pushed back until after the 1st of the year.

According to my dealer (per dealer rep), all of the 2013 540xp saws are being sold in Europe. In 2014, euro emissions are becoming stricter and a 540xp dated as a 2014 model will not be compliant

We have the 540 in aus now, maybe since a couple months ago? My local dealer is pushing them heavily. They're calling/texting people trying to get them to give it a go. Offering free loaner demo saws to try out with no obligation to buy. I was in the shop the other day picking some stuff up and they tried to get me to take one. Had a play with it but didn't start it or cut anything with it. Felt kinda plastic/chintzy and a bit bulky. The balance felt way off, butt heavy so the nose was pointing upwards and also leaning to the left. To hold it 'neutral' means twisting your wrist to the right, and holding the nose down. The feel of holding it was enough for me to not want to take one as a demo no matter how powerful/reliable they are or whatever, and I'm guessing they won't be all that reliable. Got autotune apparently and comes with 3 different sized grips for the top handle.

I've still got two working 200t's and just sold one that was on the way out. I'll be going the brad route with a 201T for my next saw. I don't much like the feel of them, but it's the best thing out there at the moment as far as I can tell.
