Mike Maas will like this.......

advantage of rear handled ms200......

attachment.php

Longer reach while one handing the saw

I had a British climber pose after he suggested that as an advantage.

I used it on a linden today. I like the rear handled ms200. Not giving up my top handle just yet:cool:

Is this a saw that is only available in Europe? I searched some threads here and found reference to a rear handle 200 but that is first picture I have seen. Wonder if they will bring it over here?

I'm running the rear handled Husky 336, very nice. Once that Stihl makes it available here in the US, I'll get one or two.
If you run one for a week or so, you'll be hooked too. Long body saw means extra reach, big handles and no need for wrist surgury.

husky 339

have you seen the husky 339????

Jamie, that's the 336 I run, not 339.

The problem with them is they are so nice to run it's hard to keep them out of the hands of the ground crew. It's so much nicer to pick up a small saw for those times when you need to make one or two cuts, or your cutting smaller stuff. This is the perfect saw to have by the chipper or on the ground during a removal. Way, way easier to start and run than a ms200 (Husky 338) or 026 (Husky 346xp).

Since this is something I am still recovering from I am interested to know if and when this is coming to U.S. I had torn ligament repaired in right wrist and stupid top handle keeps causing flare ups. Love the power of the regular ms200 and compact size but am willing to make concession for less wrist pain.

339

sorry mike, the husky site calls it a 339 and so does a catalogue i just picked up.....different saws for different countries?

Should we make a distinction between a climbing saw and a saw for use in a bucket??
I AM thinking about buying a bucket and will need to get a good "bucket saw", when I do... Seems like the rear handle would work real well in a bucket..

will you get a hydraulic one murph???i got one but no tower i am sort of looking there are some great janese towers mounted on small truck low miles and most with 17meter reach telescopic i missed out on one recently it had a 12ft fly boom 17 m reach was made by tadano reputable crane building company i can see a big future in these towers
