Title says it all. It happend ascending a pin oak rope walker style w/ HH. Has this happend to anyone. I just got the f asender at 2012 expo.

Time to switch to diet coke ;-)

Just kidding, I'm a fat bastard too. I've also got the CMI. I like it overall better than the petzl, but the strap isn't brilliant. The little toothed adjuster that holds the strap chews them to bits, and then eventually starts slipping. Did it break at the adjuster? Could be worth contacting whoever you bought it off, they might man up and give you a new one or at least put a new strap on the old one. You could probably make a new strap yourself, it isn't all that hard to do.

Mine gave up where the strap that goes under your foot attaches to the ascender, but I got several seasons before it went, and I replaced the strap before it actually broke.

Ive been looking online at the cmi foot ascender. Looks like they have new straps on em, black nylon. Im thinking of giving the CT foot ascender a run. In the meantime ive been using my bosses old petzel F ascender. Im not to fond of it pops off rope now and then and doesn't work well with spikes.
