I am not about to go to the bother of bundling wood, but made up a rack that the average person can haul. This rack measure 26 x 30 x 16-18" and will hold over 250 #'s of wood. I get $25 for this and people have been very happy with it. This is close to 1/6 th of a face cord.

Great idea C5...much better bang for the buck for the consumer than going the 'convenient store bundle' route. Hope ya sell 'em like hotcakes.

Who is your main market? Are they campers? Fire pit people? Just wondering?

There are several, hmm, at least around 4 I can think of, guys in town who sell their wood like that, stacked up in racks, for 10-20 bucks or so.. Myself, just some bundles at the local store and any bulk, they have to pick it up, I am not delivering bulk cords. If my market picks up a LOT, I would get a dump trailer, then maybe, but right now, no need. I can do a level bed full size box for around 40-50 depending on what it is, 50 for oak, 40 for mixed bag. Little road I live on, not enough traffic to garner any curbside sales like that (also this rural area is hardwood rich anyway, everyone has wood). Depends on your location I guess.

Both, firepits in town have become popular and campers. Today a person with a permanent site in a campground is getting a full cord.

I normally don't cut this time of year, but my logger buddies called me up yesterday and asked, "want some hickory". I couldn't resist.

I met them at lunch time and surprised them with brownies and ice cream. Served "logger style". Cut the pan of brownies in 6 pieces and divvied up 1 gallon of ice cream. Finished up the ice cream in one serving.
