I know of Tuatahi but I was told a true blue was a good axe also. Any info on who to talk to or where to look. Are there any good US made axes for competition. Any pics of a True Blue axe? Any good places to find used axes. Thanks

If you do a search here at AS for axes you'll find a very recent thread that provides links to a couple of sites. Here on AS Arden Cogar Jr (Jamie) is the axe man.

Tuatahi and Keesteel (Keech casting) are the most popular by far because of the constant quality. True blues are good if you can get certain years. Are you looking to compete or just want one. I know of probably ten makers of axes, some good, some not

Actually a bit of both, competition and collecting. I have a couple of Tuathi's Who are the other makers, are they in the US. Thanks

I think that if you look, you might also find out that Chopwood has a few significant wins under his belt, he may know a little about the sport.

Thanks, Russ, for pointing that out. I  you, too.

Seriously, my apologies to Chopwood, & others. I didn't mean to imlpy that Jamie was the only axe guy at AS. And to top that off I think someone here uses the handle (pun alert) axe man. Perhaps ignorance isn't bliss :p .
