If there is anyone on here from the South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or anywhere else for that matter that does any racing? We are having our 1st annual "Timbersports Like" competition. It looks like it may be pretty big so far, but im trying to get the word out about it. (The more the merrier). There will be stock saw, stock appearing, hotsaw, underhand chop, standing chop, axe throwing, and pole climbing comp. Kinda short notice but its on May the 12th in Oconee County, SC. Let me know if you would like anymore details. Racers, Spectators, and Sponsors:D welcome!

I would like to make it but that is almost 5 hours from me:chainsaw: . This is the first I have heard of a competition in "our" area though.... Give a report when it's over.

Maddog 359 make sure you post this in those other places you like to learn at, in the event sections. I am sure there would be some that would travel for a real lumberjack competition.

I will let everyone know how it goes, hopefully we will get a pretty good turnout. Gonna try to get bigger and bigger every year

Well a "real" lumberjack comp. I dont know. We will have trophies but no cash prizes, maybe in the years following well get some sponsors and that will follow
Thanks

Maddog, I have a comp on the same day here in Kingston, AR, but am interested in the classes of saws.

For example:
Our show is 0-4.5ci --Stock appearing
4.51-10 ci --Stock appearing
Which means from thirty feet it appears stock. No pipes, all covers in place, ANYTHING else is cool as long as it follows the 30 feet stipulation.

Then Open --single cylinder, pull start, that one competitor picks up to cut with.

Tell us about your saw classes.

Fred

Saw Classes

Our Classes as follows:

5.3-5.9ci
6.0-up ci
Class II - "Stock Appearing" -gas/mix -no chain restrictions

Race Rules:
Race begins with saw running on the ground, racers hands on log, bell sounds and three cuts. First cut has to be down. Cut outs=DQ, and 8inches for the three cuts.

Probably not the best but its what we came up with, let me know if you guys have any better ideas cuz im a :newbie:

Holy **** that the most saw classes I have ever seen offered before.
That would be a handful to cover all those classes and would have to collect a few more horses in the stables :D  ;) .

He failed to mention the cutting stock will be 10"x10" square cut Poplar that will be cut and squared up 2 days before event!
