A friend of mine was telling me he used to buy composite stickers that were H shaped and they never stained any of his lumber while drying, even the maples. Has anyone here used them and are they still available?

I have never heard or even thought about composite stickers, but It seems like a great idea.
Quick google search came up with plastic ones made from electrical conduit, that I think I will go with myself. https://www.popularwoodworking.com/projects/plastic-stickers-dont-stain
I did see some that are in an H form but they were all wood.
Good luck

I hear they work good, I also hear they are expensive, but I don't know where to buy them...

DRY wood stickers won't stain either... DRY is the secret...

I can't see how those halved conduits won't significantly compress the wood around them, even if they don't stain it. Even if you plane the surface depressions out of the dried lumber, the lines could come back when the wood is coated - because the denser strip where the loads were pointed by these stickers won't take up the coating quite like the rest of the wood.

Could keep the stacks low so the bottom stickers haven't much load on 'em but still, I'd be trialling the conduit stickers on something sacrificial before potentially ruining too much timber.
