The 028 I got for $50.00 a few weeks ago is an AV with points and condensor. I cleaned it up and got it started, but it dies in a few seconds. The Jonsered dealer where I picked it up said it needed a coil, but I think the points/condensor are the culprit. I want to convert it to electronic. I searched past posts and came up with all kinds of methods. Can someone like Lakeside please list the Stihl part numbers for the module and trigger, as well as explain what wires to cut and where to attach the new stuff? Thanks!

The trigger 1118 400 1001 is "the module".

Just cut the wire going to the points/shutoff switch and wire it to the terminal. The trigger case is the other "terminal". You'll likely need the mounting bracket 1113 405 1901 also. Mount it to the lower coil screw.

The best way is to just buy a used 0000 400 1300 electronic igntion that's found on most models from 024 though 044- very common and $25-$35. No messing around with triggers., brackets etc.
