While cruising home depot today I saw that they now have a 18v ryobi cordless saw.

Bad news is that it only has a 10" bar, but it looks like any homelight / poulan bar will

fit. I think its a cool tool, and might be handy in a tree. Anyone else seen um, or

better yet have them?

I've seen stuff like that and run cordless electric chainsaws before. I was not impressed. A good handsaw is faster.

If I'm going to be up in a tree or on a ladder and need something more than a handsaw, I'll stick to my usual cordless lightweight chainsaw:

I've run the cordless circ saw enough to know that battery life is not long. If you're going to trim 2-3 small branches it might be fine, but we all know that 2-3 turns into many more.

computeruser,
Nice cordless!

I hear the cordless ones that run on gas suck and have no balls.

I would stay with the corded model. Some of our Pro arborists will attest to this as if you buy the correct extension cord you can throw all your climbing lines away. Just another opinion.

Hey i got that Ryobi cordless chainsaw. I got it in a power tool set. I cut up 10 cord with that thing last year. That thing rips. I recommend everybody gets one:cheers: I cut up a pallet once with it and that was it. It was pretty quick with a fresh battery....hmmmm maybe comparable to a MS-441?
