Correct marking color for NO CUT / in Alabama?

I am getting mixed opinions/guidelines in color coding for indicating trees I want to save as retainer/no cut. What is the definitive color or marking symbol to prevent a tree from being harvested in Alabama?

Since there is a very high percentage of color blindness among loggers in Bama, probably not.

We usually use orange, but that's by procedure rather than law.

It depends on where you are. The state here uses blue to keep, red to cut, depending on how they're marking the unit.

When I marked timber for the BLM, we used orange to keep. One stripe up high, one dot low on the stump.

chain a hippy to it. might work or make the faller want to cut it all the more.

I figure hippies are rare enough in Alabama that one chained to a tree might be a tourist attraction. Make sure it's a good, crunchy, patchouli-stinking hippie and not one a' them "long-haired country boys" -- Bocephus don't take kindly to restraint.
