here's the pics of the craftsman 2.1 that im workin on, as well as the XX that im trying to revive. as you can see from the pictures, the plug wire boot has come off as well as the wire that connects to the plug, anyone know where I can get one of these, or if anyone has one laying around I would be willing to pay for it, I think that's the only thing wrong with it.

Besides for the crappy power sharp(dull) feature on it, it should be a decent saw for general stuff. I would think. any information would be appreciated.

also does anyone have the IPL for this saw?

There's probably no reason you couldn't put the wire end and boot back on that plug wire.

But, if you want another one I can send one out for a few dollars.

plug wire

I tried, but when i pierce the rubber wire coming out of the body of the saw, and I attach the plug with it out of the case, I touch the plug to the outside of the case and give it a few pulls to see if I have spark and I dont have any spark,
so Im assuming that Im not making contact in that rubber wire. tell me if im wrong and, how the heck am i going to get that boot back around the wire, maybe im doing it totally wrong, I dont know

Not to get of topic, but... Scott, I've noticed you have an Efco 940 listed in your signature as brand new. I live In an area where most dealers are Stihl, Husky and a few others, but no Efco (unless you want a John Deere saw, from your local Deere dealer) Where did you find a new Efco in America, it is my understanding that they are just, and I mean just coming into the American market?

Anyway, about the Craftsman, that saw is the same as, rather, I should saw, it is made by Poulan. A new plug boot should be available at any Poulan dealer that can get parts, or your local parts store. I've reused plug boots that have come off using superglue before, not the best idea, but it got me up and running.

sounds like you might not be making contact with the wire inside the rubber. More likely that the end of your wire is worn out from the boot pulling off or repeated piercings of the rubber insulation.

The easiest thing to do is replace the whole coil with the plug wire and boot still attached to it. I have plenty of used parts for these saws and a coil with boot and wire would only set you back $5.

The efco, I found on ebay this spring. It was probably originally sold through a place with a tilton distributorship. Wanna buy it? I also have a like new cub cadet 5018 I will be selling along with several of my older olympyks.
