Picked this up free on the side of the road the other day. Fires on prime. Has this Nikki carb I've never heard of before. Anyone know anything about them? I cant find any info or parts.
Any help is appreciated.

Maybe you can get by with no carb kit just becareful taking it apart to clean it.

Or go to sears and punch in the model number? 917.353774

I can’t find anything for the saw.

You can try this site: https://www.jackssmallengines.com/equipment/list/chainsaw/Carburetors-And-Parts-2-Cycle/Carburetors. But I am guessing you will have to CAREFULLY remove the carb to check it for numbers, since your pic only identifies the brand but not the model of it.

You will need the numbers off the carb itself to find anything for it

Bringing this thread back up. I tore the saw down, cleaned it all up, installed all new oil and fuel lines and a new fuel filter. I disassembled the carb and cleaned it but the carb still will not pull fuel. The diaphragms where in pretty bad shape. I dug through my miscellaneous carb parts bag and found a fuel pump diaphragm that should work, I have no idea what it is for, but it has to either be a walbro SDC or a tillotson HS. However, i did not have a metering diaphragm that would work. Thinking at this point, that is the problem.
If anyone has any leads on parts for these carbs, I am all ears. I'm wondering now, if something else will substitute.
Again, the carb is marked Nikki Japan. There are no other numbers or markings on it.

Look for TK Nikki roper chainsaw carb kit, maybe. It would probably be easier to replace the carb with a Walbro or Tillotson, perhaps even cheaper. Sometimes those Nikki kits could be pricey.

I found nothing for that carb with a quick search so I would be looking for a Walbro, SDC I think.

Maybe a Tillotson HS79A, try to check these numbers out, ideally you want a carb with separate high and low screws and I do not remember which was which.

Roper used everybody’s carbs throughout the years, many with a single screw adjustment, they work however not as well.

If you have checked the piston and cylinder you should before dumping money on the saw. Those saws will feel like they have lots of compression and even run with a scored cylinder. Lots of them needed gaskets and seals 10 years ago.

Googling around, this carb seems very close to a tillotson HS if not an actual copy. I have found that they make a Chinese replacement for husqvarna 266,272,66. It appears very similar and I think I can make it work with some minor tweaks, so I think I will go that route.

I just got in from messing with the saw some more. I swapped a metering diaphragm from my parts bag into it. The one I had was for the forked style metering arm, this carb doesn't have that so I ground the tit down on the diaphragm. The saw runs now but it is pig rich. I think I need to mess with the metering lever height the carb passes a pressure test but I have to assume the wicked rich running is due to the needle not seating.

I got one good recoil and comp. And spark pay the s/h its yours. I hate to just throw it away.

It was the fixed jet. I must have lost the carb.
