Wow, what I day, can't get into to much detail, tired...have to sleep soon...
We were called in to do a emergency removal of a half fallen poplar over a building today...
24-30" DBH, 65' to the top of the dead limbs... dead maybe 3-5 years, root plate failure into the surrounding canopy... hanging percariously over a newly built fish hatchery...
after about an hour of deliberations, we started setting the rig....
an hour later... ready to lift the whole tree... up and swing 90 degress and set it down on the forest floor...
Beautiful... what a site, pictures and video to follow in due time
no problems, no failure, some sweat stains on my forehead, and the ropes...but very cool
