First in defense of myself I prune crepe myrtles for shape from the bottom and inside. Now quite often I have a customer that insists on lopping of the top because they feel it is to tall or whatever. I try my best to discourage this practice but still end up doing it. I explain to my customer that this is the last time I will do it for at least 3 years and that I have to prune for shape and to start training the tree for shape the next season. does anyone else do this .I feel just wrong about it but look at it like this, I would rather it be me than the lawn boy who has no idea whatsoever about proper cuts . Any thoughts aside from "don't do it butcher" .
