As timber becomes more scarce one has to keep an eye peeled for those little microcosms that yeild green gold.
This peninsula into the swamp harboured some Black Cheery.

Great pix Gypo. I especially like that one of the bark with the sidelighting. What kind of a camera/lens are you using? Real sharp!

That stuff kind of looks like some of my miserable choke cherry, minus all the half-dead, mostly-dead, hollow, diseased, bug-eaten, fungoid and/or declining areas! Maybe I'll post a pic or two. You guys should see how the lightning tears stuff up around my place.

Ha! He does. It was so dark back in there I had to use flash, and I haven't run it through Photoshop yet. He's only possessed when retreiving. Other times, he's asleep on the floor.
