Now here's a cool site. Anyone ever heard of doing this to a Chainsaw?
I heard a guy on the radio last week saying that his re-built honda insite now gets between 60 and 120 miles per gallon...They did a whole special on it. Would this make a saw much more durable? or is it a crock of crap??

the search feature is messed up, i just searched google and found some old posts on the same subject...sorry

I did a paper on cryo-treatments back a few years ago. My topic was the fatigue life of M2 tool steels, but I based it off of wear resistance results for all types of steels.

In a nutshell, the cryo-treatment did provide an increase in wear resistance (not consistent through the various types), but did not affect the fatigue life. (Do you have any idea how long it takes to prep and test the fatigue life of 200 samples?:dizzy: )
