Bigger pump, which may entail a bigger motor and larger control valve etc..........................

for a little boost sometimes just changing to a larger control valve and larger hoses, less restrictive fittings (reduce angles ie. remove 90 degrees elbows, replace with a 45 or just let the hose flex a little) can cut a second or so off of the cycle time

A little more info please?

what type of splitter do you have? Does it have an automatic retract with kickout? what length is the wood you split and what is the stroke of the splitter? My idea for my own splitter is this
I have a 24" stroke cylinder but usually only cut the rounds to 16". I put a plate on the I-beam above the movable wedge ,to limit the stroke on the return cycle to 20". when the wedge hits the plate the valve kicks out And I'm ready for the next stroke. Make it easy to remove if you get a few longer ones or need the full stroke for a stuck round. This still gives me room to the wood in and out but saves 8" per stroke.
