DAZED AND CONFUSED by husqvarna 340

Hi, I recently acquired a non running husqvarna 340 in non running condition, came to me partially disassembled. Piston and cylinder both look pretty good and I'd like to fix it., it's pretty much all there hopefully except missing the brake handle .Came to me with the half wrap handle present but not attached. There's a a LOT! of play between the tank handle and the case? I can can wiggle it back and forth maybe a 1/2 inch. Will that go away when I put the Half wrap handle back on , or is there something else missing. I have almost no experience with separating/reattaching case and tank on a saw. Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like your AV bushings might be shot.
You got the shop manual?

One of the clutch springs is missing and must be replaced or replace the clutch. Forget the case work. I never mess with separating and/or rebuilding a case if I can avoid it.

I didn’t notice the clutch spring til I looked at the picture I posted!

Putting handle back on seems to have been the trick. Thanks
