Is there a good source to have OEM-look alike decals made for old saws undergoing restoration?

Decals

I have thought about that my self. If theres not any where to get them next best thing would be to try to find a good picture to take to a decal shop. They could probly get pretty close .

You guys can make your own if you have an original of the decal you want or at least a parts book or owner's manual that has a picture of the decal or some other insignia that somewhat matches your decal. I made some decals for some older Jonsered saws by scanning the design from the parts list into my computer and using an imaging program to fill in the original colors, then I used my inkjet printer to print the new decals onto some clear plastic adhesive sheeting I got from Officemax. Not quite a perfect match for the original but you never tell just by loooking at it.

Thanks Jacob, that sounds like a great idea. It may even work to spray some "clear kote" lacquer over top of the finished decals for a bit of moisture protection. I don't know how well the ink jet ink would hold up if it got a bit wet.
