Standing dead tree. But I have about 10 feet that looks like it will be good lumberView attachment 821787

I try to do the same if it's a nice tree with 4 clear faces. I've lost so many of those it's hard to even keep up with getting them to firewood before they rot.

I wish I'd started putting them into the biggest/longest cants I could cut them into, then covered/saved them. I'd have enough to do a nice timberframe.

I like ash and unfortunately there is alot dead standing and on the ground. Here is an 83 year old that we had to take down. EAB....IMG_20200419_133429.jpgIMG_20200127_180729.jpgIMG_20200127_181118.jpgIMG_20191226_161943.jpg

Ash are all but gone here taking this one down soon . And there is another I'm going to try to mill. It's about 3ft + in diameter and pin straight for a good 18 ft before the first branch but is still goes fairly straight after its dying but not there yet I'll get a picture of it tomorrow . The big one is dead its losing bark all over it . They are both on my property20200103_112105.jpg20200103_112618.jpg
